These are really nice drums. Same shells as there top of the line kits. There is only a small minor, flaw in the set, not in the shells, but in the bass drum spurs. they seem to be cheaply made. in my profes, playing. these need to be up graded, to the better made set of spurs, like there 15.07 price range. it is true, that you can get a set of pearl, export spurs, for around 24.00 on ebay, and then add them to your kit, but why do that, just ask them how to do this your-self. they'll be glad to help out, and they might even install them for you. also they need to add more hardware to the set. like 3 booms, and 2 striaght stands. insteed of the 1 boom and 1 straight stands. but for the p[rice of the kit the way it is : is bar none the best for birch shells. pearl does not even do that, for there export kit, you'll get 10,12,13, mounted toms, 14',16'floor 2 - 18x22 bass, 6.5 x 14 snare, in a pressed ply wood - more -less thats what it is. for 1299.00 - 1499.99, why pay that price when you can get a 12PC. kit of brich shells for 1300.00 and then upgraded the sprus and bass drum spurs for another 75.00 - 185.00 or so, then you beat the hell out of a pearl export, or even pearl's top of the line set. That why my chose is HB DRUMS, I still have my old kit CB 700 150th year kit. but for stage use I use HB drums. no matter what. they are they when I need the extra beat and low end. HB Drums - should not be voer looked. for a good set and the best sound for the price, get your set today. shop no were else, but HB Drums - i rate these a 10 for shells, and hardware- but the lack of better spurs. I give it a 9. that would be a 10 if the spurs and bass drums pedals were the step ups. but a 9 is still good. the rest of the hardware, is great, the shells are awsome, the heads are good, lugs, lugs rods are great. bass drums pedals are fair, but for my hard hitting, not to good. had to upgarde those to ?? not going to tell you. but iot starts with a D. the spurs had to up grade to the cheap pearl export. I bought my kit used from a friend of mine. that upgrade to the duke set. thanks for reading. and KEEP playing hard as hell. these drums will take the heat, of any type of music you play. I mean any.
